Behind the low cost "Made in China" products is the immeasurable HIGH cost of the "Left Behind" children. (留守兒童）

These children are left behind in villages, with minimal to no care. The majority of them see their parents once a year, usually for just a few days during Chinese New Year.

The plight of China's left behind children, as these 60 million children are known, gained international attention after four siblings, the youngest just 5-year-old, committed group suicide in June 2015.
